We are hiring new Associates in Riga, Latvia! Located at the Regus co-working space near the Latvian National Opera House, this exciting job allows you to immediately work in the world of hedge funds, private equity, consulting firms, and expert networks.
What is Cadence?
Cadence is a language services firm serving the due diligence industry. Our clients are hedge funds, consulting firms, and expert networks who hire us to facilitate their international research projects with translation, transcription, and interpretation. We have four offices around the world: Beijing, Los Angeles, Riga, and Singapore.
Associates connect our clients with the linguists and editors that help to power their multilingual due diligence and market research. This is an 18-month role, where top performers will be invited to remain at Cadence on one of our four teams. In this fast-paced role, an Associate can expect to interact with up to 30 projects on any given day.
You will begin your tenure focused on the basic project management of our jobs. You will primarily communicate with language professionals. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Strong performers will end up taking on more client-facing responsibilities. In that capacity, you are focused on customer service and project scoping.
We cannot emphasize enough how important coordination skills are for this role. You will need to coordinate with your in-office colleagues on projects. You will also need to coordinate with colleagues in other offices to hand over any jobs still incomplete at the end of your day. And you will need to coordinate with the language professionals who render service to our clients. Have we said "coordinate" enough times for you to get the message?
The working hours are 9 am to 6 pm. We have structured working hours to balance our clients' needs with the goals for predictable work by our Associates.
Outside of these hours, Associates in other offices are working to delight clients. Therefore, successful Associates will demonstrate the "always-on" mentality and recognize that they should be responsive to changes in business conditions. Sometimes this can merely mean checking Slack messages before and after your desk time. Other times it can be starting your day early or staying late to help colleagues.
In addition, we find Associates often have innovative ideas for how to grow our company and promote our culture. We strongly encourage such "off-desk" projects. Because of the nature of our service expectations, it is unlikely that Associates will be able to work on such "off-desk" projects during the core working hours of 8 am-5 pm. Hence, some amount of time outside of working hours will likely be needed for such initiatives.
What about working from home (WFH)? Our WFH policy is three days a week must be done from our office.

Compensation and Professional Development
Compensation is EUR 1,700 (gross). Compensation will be increased to EUR 1,900 per month (gross) beginning January 2023.
